Via Dolorosa
Jan Douglas Bish is a renown Christian Artist. The Lord led him to Jerusalem to paint a series entitled "A Tour of Israel and Beyond".
Via Dolorosa is a street in Jerusalem promoted as the place where Jesus Christ (Yeshua) walked with the cross toward Golgatha. This route was taken when as He was led to be crucified. John 19:17
However, in that time of history, cities were built on top of one another. It is strongly suggested that he did not actually walk on that pavement but perhaps two stories underneath that street.
He did walk with the cross in Jerusalem. Before reaching the destination, someone had to help him bare the cross since it was too heavy.
At times, our burdens appear to be too much. This is where our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, assist us to complete the task since He will never leave us or forsake us. Hallelujah!

Tradition states that this is the path that Jesus took on the way to be crucified. Many wonder why it was necessary for Him to beside in this way among sinners. This was the Father's plan before the foundation of the world. He knew mankind would sin against Him, and made a way for them to come back to him - through His Son.
