Experiences
Personal experiences are necessary in order to grow spiritually in the Lord. Initially when He allows you to come to Him, it is just the beginning. It is an on-going journey.
A lot happened before the Lord drew me in. After three (3) months of not understanding what was happening, I accepted His call. Then my entire life changed in one day. There is so much to learn through trials and tribulations. The blessings begin to flow and it is great.
I was raised in a family that wanted no connection to God in any way. Even though they felt that way, something within told me that He was real. Never was this conversation brought up to them because it would have chopped down to nothing.
The Lord waited until I was going to school out-of-town to start drawing me toward Him.
After being in Oklahoma City for a few days there was an ice storm. My car slid toward a tree and barely missed hitting it. One more inch and the car would have been severely damaged.
Another time while in the doctor's office, something could be felt in the room. It was so scary. The doctor had left and all I wanted to do was run out the door. Finally he came back. Whew
Several months later my roommate Carolyn and I went to see the Late Great Planet earth. It got me to thinking.
